Number of participants:  max. 30
Program lenght: 60 minutes
Led by: Kateřina Třísková

WWhat do we see with our eyes and what with our brain? Is it true that artworks often intentionally mislead our sense of perception? In this program we will look at the Czech post-war art from a psychological perspective. We will talk about the artworks within the context of Gestalt psychology and the like. In what way is the black and white, minimalist art from the Jan and Meda Mladek collection illusory? Is linear perspective an illusion? Do we see a circle or a set of parallels? Are colors able to move? An interactive guided tour will guide us to through the secrets of the human brain, which through the eyes sees something that we in our daily experience know as “art”. This program will be enriched by a workshop on the topic of optical illusions.
